Church Rites... What were they celebrating?

I was on the 4th level parking of a mall and saw a church across EDSA with plenty of people in a festive mood.

Most of the attendees were wearing white dresses like that of a nun and some had blue dresses. I wonder... What were they celebrating?

Can anyone let me know...? I'm genuinely curious...
